The Schwimmwagen Type 166 was a German amphibious military vehicle developed during the Second World War to provide highly mobile transportation across both land and water. Based on the Volkswagen Kübelwagen chassis, it featured a lightweight body, four-wheel drive, and a retractable propeller, making it one of the most capable amphibious vehicles of its time.
Designed to operate in a wide variety of environments, the Schwimmwagen combined excellent cross-country performance with the ability to traverse rivers, lakes, and other water obstacles without external assistance.
